Turkology Workshop in the Balkans
🇹🇷 A Turcology Workshop will be organized for students between 30-31 May and 1 June 2024 in cooperation with Sarajevo Yunus Emre Institute and Karatay Municipality. The main theme of the workshop is "Past, Present and Future of Turkology Studies in the Balkans". Other subtopics are as follows:
• Turkish Language (Phonetics, Morphology, Semantics, Pragmatics, Rhetoric, Lexicography, Translation, Teaching),
• Turkish literature,
• Turkish Folklore,
• Turkish culture,
• Language Policies of Balkan Countries,
• Current Situation and Needs of Turkish Teaching
It is planned that many faculty members, who are the leading names of Turkology in Turkey, will participate in the workshop. Turcologists who will participate in the workshop will meet with the students at the opening of the program and current issues of Turcology will be discussed.
The workshop was held for undergraduate level 3-4 students enrolled in Turcology departments at universities in the Balkan countries. It is aimed at first grades and postgraduate (Master's and Doctoral) Turkology department students. Papers may have more than one author. The writing and presentation language of the papers is Turkish. Manuscripts sent in different languages will not be accepted. At the end of the workshop, the papers deemed appropriate by the referees will be published as a workshop book.
Transportation (road), accommodation and food expenses of the workshop participants will be covered by the workshop organizing committee.
IMPORTANT DATES
• The deadline for abstract submission is 5 May 2024,
• Announcement of accepted papers on 10 May 2024,
• Deadline for submission of edited full texts is 20 June 2024.

• The abstract should be in 12 point Times New Roman font, the title should be centered on the page and all letters should be written in capital and bold.
• The author's name and surname should be placed in the lower right corner of the paper title, aligned to the right,
• Writing the author's university name, faculty name and e-mail address as a footnote,
• The abstract should be at least 200 - 250 words and 3-5 keywords should be included.
